The wood has been manufactured from well managed forest, postconsumer recycled content, or a combination
of FSC-certified wood fiber, recycled content and other controlled forest friendly sources.
FSC-certified forests protect wildlife habitat and endangered species; ensure clean water by respecting rivers and waterways.
FSC is the only forest certification standard supported by organizations such as
World Wildlife Fund of Canada, Sierra Club of Canada and Greenpeace.
FSC paper can also contain fiber from forest friendly, or controlled sources. Controlled fiber means that it has
been verified and cannot come from:
- Areas of social conflict and illegal logging
- Genetically modified trees
- High conservation value forests, and
- Large scale conversions which replace native tree species with faster growing non-native species.
Using the term “FSC Approved” does not mean that a printer is environmentally friendly. They may still use chemistry, oil based inks, etc.
We on the other hand, have changed everything we can, to proudly use the words “environmentally friendly printer”.
